Bever – the outdoor retailer in the Netherlands

“Would you like to train our leadership team to work together more effectively and improve communication skills in order for them to implement a new organisational structure throughout the organisation?”

Together with my fellow trainer Marjolein Beek, I developed two trainings to increase self-awareness, improve communication skills and make concrete action plans. In total we trained 200 managers (head office, regions and shops). We used Deep Democracy and the Enneagram as supporting tools.

UWV Uitkeren

“Our vision 2022 needs to become tangible for all 5.000 employees and we want a new tone of voice to support and speed up the change process we’re in.”

For a period of 4 years, the 2022 vision is the backbone for the division ‘Uitkeren’. Together with colleagues from the communication team and their communication agency, I developed a new communication strategy, new channels and tools and a completely new look & feel.

At the same time, I took a close look at the communication team’s working methods and helped recruit new professionals and ways of working. The communication team of the division ‘Uitkeren’ is now seen as one of the most successful teams within UWV. :-)


KPMG Management Consulting

“How do we make sure our team of 400 critical consultants understand the change we need to make and adjust their way of working?

Together with the management team I’ve developed interventions and created relevant and creative communications. An important part was creating the business case and implementing PLEK, a new internal communications platform for KMPG Nederland.


Akzo Nobel Decorative Paintings

“Will you help plan the reorganisation of our global team?”

As a sparring partner of the director of corporate comms I consulted on the steps to take and the time schedule. And I worked together with the global team to define new roles and work processes.


Chamber of Commerce

“Develop an internal communication concept to help accelerate our transition.”

In a dynamic team of freelancers, I developed plans, a creative concept, an online magazine for external stakeholders and an online platform for all employees.

This request was right up my alley. With my knowledge of both of these companies, as well as organisational change, effective processes, the communication field and of creativity and innovation, I worked on this honourable assignment with great passion.


ING

“Do you want to lay the foundation for communications with 15,000 ING colleagues, as part of the change program The New Way of Working?”

As a member of the change program team over five months, I created a foundation for internal communications. I worked closely with colleagues in HR. This change process started on 1 January 2013, and guided 15,000 staff members through The New Way of Working, over a period of four years. I devised a plan, a new look and feel and tone of voice for all communications relating to the program. I also set up various resources, toolkits and work sessions.


The City of Amsterdam’s Department of Work and Income (DWI)

“Do you want to advise us on developing a corporate story and new core values for our organisation?”

Along with the DWI communications team, I developed a process of extracting the story and new core values of DWI out of the organisation itself. All 2,000 employees were invited to submit their contributions, a process which took about a year. Their wealth of input was translated into a corporate story, core values chosen from within the organisation, and several different communication tools were developed.

Additionally, I guided the communications team in creating and executing their yearly planning and coached individual team members.


PostNL

“Will you help us to put our internal branding on the map?”

I presented workshops on internal branding, made presentations to the executive board, helped strategise on the program plan, and was sparring partner to the program manager.


Hogeschool Inholland

“We want to start a change of culture trajectory; would you assist us?”

For a period of nine months I worked in the communications team. We reconsidered methods of cooperation, as well as the tone of voice and look and feel for all communications at Inholland. I was also part of the ‘change team’ – we organized several work sessions and started a process whereby the whole organisation could eventually have a say and develop together.


AkzoNobel

“Do you want to develop a process for the implementation of a global internal communications concept in six languages?”

Over a year and a half, I was involved in this project. I assembled a team of internal and external colleagues, and developed the process for creating a global print magazine in six languages, with dozens of inserts produced in different countries. I also drew up the production budget and all contracts, as well as guiding the process and individual team members.


Olympia Uitzendbureau

“Can you assist our department and raise our internal communications to a higher level?”

As a team member of the department, I developed plans for sharpened positioning. I advised on reshaping both the content and processes of internal communication, and was the right hand of the program manager in rolling out the various change trajectories. I organised the scouting of talent for implementing the means of communication, and guided the communications team and individual team members in their personal and professional development.
